Application for school place in September 2022

The application process for children who need a school place in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough for September 2022 has started.  Any child transferring from primary school to secondary school next year must apply for a place by 31 October 2021.  Children due to start at primary or junior school next September must complete their application by 15 January 2022.

Food vans in the village this week

Happy Monday food lovers.  Help is on the way this week to deal with the shock that summer is over and the return to work traffic is back to pre-covid congestion levels!  At the Haslingfield Village Hall this week (5-8pm):  Thursday (16/9): Kerief Catering with Caribbean spicy flavours. Walk ups or pre-order.  Friday (17/9): Oreno Japanese grill and sushi!!! (the regular Biga pizza team are taking a hard earned rest and Oreno are here to fill the gap in your bellies!)  All cooked and prepared to order. PRE ORDERS ONLY.  Saturday (18/9): Pig-Casso’s, the smoked and pulled meat kings! Pre-orders highly recommended to avoid missing out.

Happy Monday all.  Super 100th birthday party on the weekend gone by.  Summer is back.  Kids are back at school.  Can life be any better?  Regardless of your answer, there is good food news for us this week at the Haslingfield Village Hall (5-8pm):  Thursday (9/9): It’s burger time with Steak and HonourFriday (10/9): La Biga pizza as always.  Saturday (11/9): Wandering Yak with their plant based North African flavour sensations.  Sunday (12/9): a day of rest.

Final days of school holidays and the 100th birthday celebrations for the Haslingfield Rec Ground is upon us!  Food van schedules this week:  Thursday (2/9): Pull Me Cheri French brioche rolls filled with delicious choice of chicken, lamb, pork, beef, or halloumi!  Friday (3/9): La Biga pizza.  Saturday (4/9): 100th birthday event features 3 food vans: Bon Crepes for a mix of sweet or savoury options;  Oreno Japanese grill and sushi;  Vonnie’s Balkan Express for Balkan delights. Sunday (5/9): not operating.

Connections Bus

The Connections Bus Project has been providing youth services in Cambridgeshire for over 25 years but arguable is currently experiencing its toughest period in all that time. However through adaption and perseverance the charity is surviving and hoping to thrive.  Please read the attached to read about how they are moving forward.

Happy Monday folks, albeit another day of grey dull skies.  We’re in for a treat… with the Tokyo Olympics behind us, a little bit of Japan is coming to Haslingfield this week!!!  At the Haslingfield Village Hall this week (5-8pm):  Thursday (12/8): Buffalo Joe’s! You know what to do if you don’t want to miss out.  Friday (13/8): La Biga pizza.  Saturday (14/8): Welcome for the first time, Oreno Japanese robata grill and sushi!!! We’re in for a treat with their delightful Japanese street food offerings!
