Dog walks in Haslingfield
We are very fortunate in having many lovely spaces for dogs (and their owners!) to walk and run in Haslingfield. Along River Lane, there are fields leading to Hauxton and Harston, and a winding path along the River Rhee. A walk along School Lane and up the Clunch pits affords beautiful views. A walk all the way to Harlton will take you to the dog friendly pub the Hare and Hounds. Dogs are also welcome in the main part of the Wellhouse meadow, behind the church. There are bins to dispose of dog waste near each of these places (please see map).
The only three places in which dogs are not allowed in the village are:
- The picnic area of the Wellhouse meadow (which is gated off, with a sign, and which is intended for picnics, play and yoga/other quiet activities),
- The recreation ground, which was bequeathed by Henry Badcock for the children of Haslingfield to play upon and
- The skatepark.

Green bin collection
South Cambridgeshire District Council has informed us that green bin collections are being suspended from Monday (13 December) because of the number of drivers and loaders absent – particularly with Coronavirus or self-isolating. Key points to note are:
- Green bin collections are planned to resume on Wednesday 12 January 2022 in line with the previously published Christmas schedule.
- Crews are working hard to complete green bin rounds that are scheduled for the rest of this week. The message for the rest of this week is to put your green bin out as normal. If it is not collected on your usual collection day, leave it out, and it will be emptied by the afternoon of Tuesday 14 December.
