Blue Skies Big Band returns to Haslingfield: 7 October

The Blue Skies Big Band will be playing at Haslingfield Village Hall again on Saturday 7 October for a one-night only “Jazz Special”. The concert will raise funds for Parkinsons UK.

Film Club Evening

The first Film Club meeting of the 2017-18 session will be held on Friday 15th September 2017 at 7.30pm.  We shall meet in Haslingfield Methodist Church Rooms.  Admission is free.  Running time 100 min. Certificate: 12+.  We break for tea, coffee and biscuits, half way through.  ‘Hard of hearing’ subtitles will be used.  Read more

3 September – Cream Tea at the Dovecote

Come and enjoy a traditional cream tea with freshly-baked scones, jam and cream this Sunday 3 September between 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m in the informal woodland garden of The Dovecote 29 High Street, Haslingfield. All proceeds to Parkinson’s UK.

Children’s funfair in Harston

For all children, please note there will be a funfair on the recreation ground in Harston.
Opening  Friday and Saturday  6:00pm-8:30pm and Sunday from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

This August Bank Holiday Monday 28th August the Village Shop will be open from 8am until 4pm and the Post Office counter will be closed. The rest of the weekend sees the normal opening hours.

These are the normal opening hours for the Village Shop and Post Office on Fountain Lane:-
Mondays to Fridays: 7.00am – 8.00pm
Saturdays: 8.00am – 7.00pm
Sundays: 8.00am – 4.00pm

The Post Office hours are:-
Mondays to Fridays: 9.00am – 5.30pm
Saturdays: 9.00am – 12.30pm
Sundays Closed

Haslingfield Little Theatre Poetry Evening – Friday 8 September

Hare & Hounds, Harlton – Latest News

The Hare and Hounds Steering Group are delighted to tell you that they have now exchanged contracts on the purchase of the Hare and Hounds.  They will complete on Wednesday 6th September. Unfortunately, the news on potential tenants is not as good.  Their search for the right tenant continues. They will keep you informed on progress.

Little Rose Opening Details

This Friday 25th August sees the next Little Rose Pub Quiz, which takes place on the last Friday of every month. Teams of any number, up to a maximum of six, can take part. Cost of entry is only £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. We can also make up teams from whoever turns up on the night. The quiz now takes place on the last Friday of every month. It’s great fun with a good number of all local teams taking part. There’s 6 rounds covering many topics including a topical quiz round as well as a picture round. The quiz finishes around 10pm with a break halfway through.

Haslingfield Speed Watch

There will be a demonstration by the speed watch team on Saturday 2nd September at various locations in the village. If you want to meet the volunteers, see how it operates or ask them questions then please go and see them. Details are on the poster.
