August’s Pub Quiz at the Little Rose is taking a well earned summer break. The next Little Rose Pub Quiz will take place on Friday 27th September. The quiz usually takes place on the second Friday of every month but in September it is delayed because of the pub’s Gin and Beer Festival. Teams of any number, up to a maximum of six, can take part. Cost of entry is only £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. We can also make up teams from whoever turns up on the night. It’s great fun with a good number of all local teams taking part. There’s 6 rounds covering many topics including a topical quiz round as well as a picture round. The quiz finishes around 10pm with a break halfway through.
Please can all users of the Skate Park respect the facility and keep it safe and tidy for others. Broken bottles / litter have been reported on more than one occasion recently and there is also evidence of a fire, using school books. Some books found at the site identify their owner and these will be returned to the school in question. Please note that a new rubbish bin is due to be installed shortly (as the previous one was damaged by fire).
The Parish Council recognises that the majority of users respect the facility but these types of incidents are unwelcome and threaten the future of the skate park for all.
Luncheon Club is more than just having a meal; it’s a social occasion as well as a nutritional one! Please don’t think you have to be unable to provide your own meal to come along. The Club is a wonderful opportunity for anyone of any age to meet up each month with long-standing friends and also to make new friends while enjoying a home-made 2 course meal – all for £5.00!!

Over the past couple of weeks new bus stop signs (commonly called flags) have been put in place in three of our local villages, Haslingfield, Harlton and Stapleford. The flags and timetables have been neglected for many years, several disappeared during the recent street lighting upgrade, and more went when Whippet Coaches lost the contracts for the 31 and 75 bus routes. Further improvements to the remaining signs are in the pipeline, including better timetables which are less susceptible to fading.Read more
