Food vans in the village this week

Happy Monday all.  It seems Winter is going to come early and hit us by this weekend.  Food van alert: There WILL NOT BE ANY FOOD VANS this week at the Haslingfield Village Hall.  (This is due to a sold out theatre/pantomime event at the Village Hall.)  Fear not, however – there are tasty and heart warming curries available from Pop and Bharti for dine-in (at the Mohak Cafe) or take away (from the village shop).  More details on what curries this week will come.  And speaking of dine in options, there’s the Little Rose pub or the Harlton Hare n Hounds pub and La Pergola also if you’ve not tried before.

Six Free Trees for the village

The parish council are participating in the Six Free Trees scheme run by South Cambs District Council. The six trees will be delivered on the 6 December and we wanted to let you know the plans for the planting of these trees around the village.  Click six free trees for more information.

Monday means there is a new schedule of food vans for this coming week.  At the Haslingfield Village Hall this week (5-8pm):  Thursday (18/11): Kerief Catering and their lovely heart warming Caribbean fusion flavours.  Friday (19/11): La Biga and their wood fired oven pizza delights.  Saturday (20/11): A new Saturday night special: Dirt Box with an exciting array of flavourful options for meat lovers and non-meat lovers!

Village Christmas Tree sponsorship

Following the success of the Christmas Tree on the Village Green last year, the Parish Council have decided to continue with this tradition each year by purchasing the tree and using the lights you generously sponsored last year.  The purchase of the tree and the provision of the electric power to the lights is quite costly, so we are giving the villagers a chance to sponsor the tree again this year.  To save the fees of crowdfunding, sponsorship should be sent directly to the Parish Council bank account via bank transfer, or cash or a cheque can be accepted.   Please contact the Parish Clerk on clerk@haslingfieldparish.co.uk or 01223 870269 for details.
