Fear not, the Haslingfield Village hall this week will be bringing you some sunshine…. Thursday (17/2): Sam’s Thai Food with their selection of sunny Thai dishes made to order. Pre-order highly recommended. (Remember the delicious Massaman curry contains peanuts). Friday (18/2): labiga_mobile with their full array of hand stretched pizza. Saturday (19/2): The Cook’s Nest and their delightful Greek Gyros made to order.
Are you considering becoming a Parish Councillor? Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Association of Local Councils (CAPALC) are running 2 free Zoom sessions for any person living in the County. The sessions explain what local councillors and councils do, how you can become a councillor, details of the role and what to expect.
The sessions are on Saturday, 5th March 9:30-12:00 and Wednesday, 16th March 18:30-21:00.

Super sunny skies greet us this week. Along with that comes some of your favourite food vans! At the Haslingfield Village Hall this week (5-8pm): Thursday (10/2): Steak & Honour. Have you tried their plant based burger yet? Friday (11/2): labiga_mobile. Which is your favourite pizza topping? Saturday(12/2): Pull Me Cheri returns for the first time in 2022. In addition to their popular regular menu, there is a super plant based loaded fries special: falafel, red pepper humous on chips and coleslaw. Can you make this a popular regular menu item?
February is with us this week, along with the gradual return of more day light. Saturday (5/2): PIG-CASSO’S and their range of tasty burger innovations. All three vans have flavour packed meat free options.
Mr Anthony Browne MP wrote to Rt Hon Wendy Morton MP, the recently appointed Rail Minister, Department of Transport, on the 24th January 2022 regarding East West Rail. The letter has been posted on his Facebook page and a copy of it can be found here.

We are very fortunate in having many lovely spaces for dogs (and their owners!) to walk and run in Haslingfield. Along River Lane, there are fields leading to Hauxton and Harston, and a winding path along the River Rhee. A walk along School Lane and up the Clunch pits affords beautiful views. A walk all the way to Harlton will take you to the dog friendly pub the Hare and Hounds. Dogs are also welcome in the main part of the Wellhouse meadow, behind the church. There are bins to dispose of dog waste near each of these places (please see map).
The only three places in which dogs are not allowed in the village are:
The picnic area of the Wellhouse meadow (which is gated off, with a sign, and which is intended for picnics, play and yoga/other quiet activities),
The recreation ground, which was bequeathed by Henry Badcock for the children of Haslingfield to play upon and
We are delighted to announce that our next show is planned for 19, 20 & 21 May. It is Bedroom Farce, the hilarious comedy by Alan Ayckbourn, so do please save the date!
And, if you’re interested in being involved, the Read-Through will take place this coming Monday, 24 January, with auditions following on Thursday 27 January – both at Haslingfield Village Hall, at 7.30 pm. Rehearsals will start on 28 February and will take place on Monday and Thursday evenings at Haslingfield Village Hall.

Police and Crime Commissioner, Darryl Preston, is asking Cambridgeshire and Peterborough residents to give their views on his proposed increase to the policing part of council tax in a short survey.
