Demolition work is under way at the 80-year-old cement works at Barrington, where owner Cemex closed its manufacturing plant five years ago. This meeting is being held for Haslingfield residents to express their needs for the future regarding bus transport, as the County Council has voted to stop subsidising our route (amongst many), and to offer alternatives. Read more

Police have arrested a man they found in a garden in Fountain Lane in connection with an overturned car found in Haslingfield. Earlier Police with sniffer dogs were searching for a man with one trainer and a suspected head injury after a car overturned in the village.
We are delighted to announce that we will be taking our Spring 2013 production, the Victorian melodrama Maria Marten, to the Cambridge Drama Festival on 22-27 April, as well as performing it in Haslingfield Village Hall on 16, 17, 18 May. Read more

Many will remember Matthew & Son, the high-class grocery shop that was a feature of Trinity Street for 130 years until the early 1960s, trading in premises now occupied by Heffers Bookshop. The talk will tell the story of this well regarded Cambridge grocer and wine merchant and of the family that ran it for three generations.
Welcome in the New Year by joining in the Karaoke Party at the Little Rose Pub. The fun starts at 8pm on New Year’s Eve. It’s free entry and finishes late.
Play Bingo down at the Little Rose Pub tomorrow evening (Friday 28th December). The fun starts at 8pm and entry’s only £1.
