Explosion heard over Haslingfield this morning
I (along with a load of other people no doubt) heard a really loud explosion followed by jet plane noises in the sky this morning. I looked at my watch and it said 11.33 am. I guessed the explosion might be related to the jet plane. I just checked on the internet and found this explanation. Looks like we are still living in the 9-11 era.
All Saints’ Church “Goes to Hollywood”
Cambridge film maker Actors at Work Productions recently did some shooting in Haslingfield, with our 14th cent. church as the backdrop. The actress in the photographs is Irina Mozo and the actor is Christopher Dane, suitably attired for a village associated with Elizabeth 1st!

Junior Football Open Morning
This Sunday 16th June Haslingfield Colts FC is holding an open morning on the village Rec from 10.30am. The club is looking to recruit new players for it’s Under 14’s team for next season as well as trying to set up an Under 10’s team.

Luncheon Club celebrates
On 13th June, the Haslingfield and Harlton Luncheon Club will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The 1st meal was served on 26th June 2003 and we have met each month since then, only cancelling once because of snow! This Club has been, and continues to be, a great success.
Thanks to the loyal volunteers and diners.
Men’s Doubles Winners
This year’s Tennis Club Men’s Doubles Tournament was won by Chris Chambers and Lawrence Hopkins. Runners up were Alex Hopkins and Danny Beddard. Congratulations to them and to everyone who took part.

LOCAL GLIDING CLUB
Haslingfield is fortunate in being only 20 minutes from one of the country’s premier gliding clubs, and we have several village residents who are club members.
Gliding is a form of flight that is both beautiful and exciting. Nothing can quite match the thrill of flying silently, giving a birds-eye view over the surrounding countryside of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and beyond. Gliders from Gransden Lodge Airfield often fly two or three hundred miles on a good day.
