Read moreThe FB Pocket Orchestra Is Coming to Haslingfield
6 February 2016, take a trip back in time and immerse yourself in the funky sounds of blues, ragtime, hot jazz, songs, and dances from long ago. Working backwards from the 1930’s, the FB Pocket Orchestra explores repertoire that marked the beginning of what we now regard as popular music. Haslingfield Village Society has engaged this wonderful group for the Annual Social. The event will include a two course hot meal in the interval; seating is at tables. Guests are invited to bring their own drinks and glasses (water will be on the tables). Doors open at 6:00 for 7:00 start in Haslingfield Village Hall. Our social events always sell out. Mother Goose – Tickets on sale here!
Come and see Haslingfield Little Theatre’s traditional panto, Mother Goose, set in the land of the snow geese – a frozen wonderland of trolls, snowmen, woolly jumpers and even the occasional moose!
Performances are on 26, 27 and 28 November at Haslingfield Village Hall. You can buy your tickets online here. There are also some tickets on sale in the Village Shop and Country Kitchen. Tickets cost £9 per person (£6 concessions for under 16s and 65+, no concessions Saturday evening).

Pub Pentanque Team League Champions
Little Rose Pub
Haslingfield’s very own Petanque team, have just been crowned Champions of Division 1 of the Central Cambs League. It’s the 6th time in 7 years that the team have won the league. The team, made up of players Jim, Handbag, Steely, Alex, Nick, Neil and Kayleigh, won the league with one match left to play. The Foxton White Horse B team came second. This comes shortly after the Little Rose Team won the East Anglian Air Ambulance Petanque competition. Full details of the league are here:- http://www.almostolympians.org/

Little Rose Opening Hours
The next Little Rose Pub Quiz will take place this Friday 2nd October. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. The date of the quiz has been switched to the first Friday of every month due to popular demand!

Next Village Society Talk
Tuesday 15th September 2015 at 8.00pm in the Village Hall
Dr Nicholas Branson will talk on Shorebird Migration, describing some of his studies on The Wash in England, at a number of sites in Australia, including the Great Barrier Reef, and in the USA, revealing much about the life histories of migratory birds and the areas of the world on which they depend. All are welcome, entrance fee for non members over 16 is £2.50.
Cricket Club Avoid Relegation!

Haslingfield Cricket Club have avoided relegation. Also, in their last match of the season, they beat Thriplow 2nd XI by 166 runs. But they survived the drop as other results went in their favour after they lost to Royston 1st XI by 7 wickets. Click Read More for more details on how they survived…

Haslingfield’s very own Petanque team, who’re based and play at the Little Rose Pub, had another win on Wednesday 26th August, beating the Chequers Boulangers of Barley 5-0. They’re currently second in Division 1 of the Central Cambs League, but they have two games in hand. There’s 11 teams in their league and they’ve won 9 out of 12 games so far this season. Their next home game is a local derby against the Hare and Hounds of Harlton, and will take place on Wednesday 9th September, with the game starting around 8pm.
