Next Village Society Talk
Tuesday 15th September 2015 at 8.00pm in the Village Hall
Dr Nicholas Branson will talk on Shorebird Migration, describing some of his studies on The Wash in England, at a number of sites in Australia, including the Great Barrier Reef, and in the USA, revealing much about the life histories of migratory birds and the areas of the world on which they depend. All are welcome, entrance fee for non members over 16 is £2.50.
Cricket Club Avoid Relegation!
Haslingfield Cricket Club
Haslingfield Cricket Club have avoided relegation. Also, in their last match of the season, they beat Thriplow 2nd XI by 166 runs. But they survived the drop as other results went in their favour after they lost to Royston 1st XI by 7 wickets. Click Read More for more details on how they survived…
Film Club is Back
The First Film Club of the next session will be at 7.30pm on Friday 11th September 2015 in the Haslingfield Methodist Church Rooms. Admission is free. Running time 110 min. Certificate: 12. We will break for refreshments half way through.Petanque Team Win Again
Haslingfield’s very own Petanque team, who’re based and play at the Little Rose Pub, had another win on Wednesday 26th August, beating the Chequers Boulangers of Barley 5-0. They’re currently second in Division 1 of the Central Cambs League, but they have two games in hand. There’s 11 teams in their league and they’ve won 9 out of 12 games so far this season. Their next home game is a local derby against the Hare and Hounds of Harlton, and will take place on Wednesday 9th September, with the game starting around 8pm.

CamSight House-to-House Collection
Thank you to everyone who supported the collection in June. £323.99 was collected in Harlton and £1,246.45 in Haslingfield, making a grand total of £1,570.44. In addition, a further £100 will be added as the result of kind people Gift Aiding their donation. Read more

The next Little Rose Pub Quiz will take place on Friday 7th August. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. The date of the quiz has been switched to the first Friday of every month due to popular demand!
