On Saturday 12th December from 11.30 am – 1.30 pm, Haslingfield Primary School will be holding its Christmas Fayre. There will be Santa’s Grotto, Stalls, a Raffle, Carol Singing, Teas, Hot Dogs, Pulled Park, Sing-along Frozen and Mulled Wine.

The Little Rose pub recently played host to Siv Sears. He’s set himself a target of playing cribbage in every county in the UK and then perhaps setting up a national Cribbage competition. He’s a 38 year old Englishman with a passion for Cribbage. Having just returned to his native UK from China, where he’s have lived for most of the last 15 years, he’s been interested to find that Crib in the UK is very much locally organised, rather than both nationally and locally organised as he’s seen before in the States. King’s Cross – An insight into an extraordinary piece of London

David Tod, Events Manager for the estate, is at the heart of the strategy for this vibrant area and is part of the team working to transform it as a place to live, work, study, eat and drink. His talk will look at the rich history of the site dating back to Roman times, right up to the present day. He will share the master plans and vision for the 67 acre development and how it is going about attracting the likes of Google and Louis Vuitton to relocate their UK headquarters there. Read more
The annual village Bonfire Night & Fireworks Display takes place on Saturday 7th November from 6pm with the fireworks starting at 6.30pm. It all takes place on Well House Meadow, Haslingfield. Tickets cost £4, (under 5s free) and are available now from the Village Shop, Country Kitchen and Norman Bradshaw on 840501. They can also be bought on the gate. In the interests of safety, please do not bring sparklers or extra fireworks. 6 February 2016, take a trip back in time and immerse yourself in the funky sounds of blues, ragtime, hot jazz, songs, and dances from long ago. Working backwards from the 1930’s, the FB Pocket Orchestra explores repertoire that marked the beginning of what we now regard as popular music. Haslingfield Village Society has engaged this wonderful group for the Annual Social. The event will include a two course hot meal in the interval; seating is at tables. Guests are invited to bring their own drinks and glasses (water will be on the tables). Doors open at 6:00 for 7:00 start in Haslingfield Village Hall. Our social events always sell out. Haslingfield’s very own Petanque team, have just been crowned Champions of Division 1 of the Central Cambs League. It’s the 6th time in 7 years that the team have won the league. The team, made up of players Jim, Handbag, Steely, Alex, Nick, Neil and Kayleigh, won the league with one match left to play. The Foxton White Horse B team came second. The next Little Rose Pub Quiz will take place this Friday 2nd October. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. The date of the quiz has been switched to the first Friday of every month due to popular demand!
