Country Kitchen Turns 5!

Well, it seems like yesterday that we opened Country Kitchen, but it was in fact a whole 5 years ago. How time flies when you’re having fun! On Easter Monday we made a few changes to the shop, and are now pleased to have 2 deli counters. This allows us to have a dedicated deli counter for all the lovely home-made food we produce ourselves in the kitchen, and one for cheeses, olives, cured meats and other delicacies from our wonderful suppliers. The new arrangement will allow our continued expansion and growth, and provides a little more space for everyone.  Please do pop in and see the changes.  Last week we enjoyed birthday cake and bubbly that went down well with customers and staff alike!  We thank all our fabulous customers for your continued support and look forward to seeing you in the ’new look’ shop soon.

Pilot and Author, Chris Sullivan, will speak on the story of R.A.F. Gransden Lodge. After being put to valuable use by the R.A.F.’s Bomber and Transport Commands, it was subsequently the venue for the first post-war motor races to take place in the U.K.  After a long period during which it was under consideration as a base for Cold War American forces it was returned to agriculture, until the Cambridge Gliding Centre set up operations there in the early 1990s.  Haslingfield Village Society, Tuesday, 17th April, 8:00PM, Haslingfield Village Hall.
