On 7th July, International harpist, Robin Ward will be playing his own handcrafted triple harp in the beautiful surroundings of Haslingfield Parish Church. Robin’s talent, combined with his engaging and informative performance approach, is a treat not to be missed. His programme will include a wide variety of music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, and from Folk Traditions, with a combination of his own transcriptions and music originally written for the instrument; for a flavour of it, go to http://uk.youtube.com/user/seb25arpa . It’s a big day this Sunday (8th July) for the village Tennis Club. It’s hosting a Mixed Doubles Tournament starting at 10:30am on the tennis courts. Then later in the day, it’s holding its annual SummerBarbeque starting at 2pm in The Little Rose Pub. Read more
Haslingfield Colts Youth Football Club are holding an Open Training Session on Haslingfield Recreation Ground (off New Road in the village) on Saturday 7th July at 10.30am. The team will be playing at Under 13 level next season and needs to strengthen its squad. Read more

Cambridgeshire FA have warned all local youth football clubs that there is a gentleman posing as a football scout for Ipswich Town, attending football tournaments in the East Anglia region. Cambs FA are asking people to please be on their guard as he is apparently approaching youngsters direct at these tournaments. Ipswich Town have confirmed that this person has nothing to do with the football club. He wears an Ipswich Town top and is very convincing.
All football scouts have a code of conduct to follow and they are not allowed to approach youngsters direct.
All County Football Club Welfare Officers in the area have been alerted.
Many villagers are aware that some travellers have chosen to park their vehicles by the tennis courts on the village rec. The website team understand that the latest infomation is that an eviction order has been issued by the bailiff. The website believes that this means the travellers have until Monday evening at 7pm to move off site otherwise they will be towed off on Tuesday morning. It is also understood that the same travellers have just been evicted from Fowlmere and previously from Newton. It is also understood that the travellers are well behaved.
Repair work on the bridge on the road between Haslingfield and Barton will commence on Monday 25 June. The periods when the bridge will be closed to traffic will be kept to a minimum, as far as it is possible, and will be displayed on the signs in advance.
