Blue Skies Big Band Concert – February
W
e are delighted that February’s Blue Skies Big Band Concert, hosted by Haslingfield Little Theatre, raised £1048 for the Alzheimer’s Research Fund. Thanks go to everyone who supported the evening, whilst enjoying wonderful music, and, of course, to the Blue Skies Big Band members themselves.
Easter Egg Hunt, BBQ & Disco
Little Rose Pub
Easter Sunday sees an Easter Egg Hunt taking place at 3pm at the Little Rose Pub for all the little people we know. This is followed at 4pm on Easter Sunday with a BBQ, including vegetarian options, for all the family in the pub garden. On Easter Saturday, there’s a free 80’s Disco in the pub, which starts at 8pm. The pub is also open all day on Easter Monday with new opening hours from Tuesday 29th March which sees the pub opening from noon from Tuesdays to Sundays and from 4pm on Mondays.
Beer Festival at the Pub
Little Rose Pub
The Little Rose Pub is holding its first ever beer festival on Thurday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd April. There will be 18 real ales plus real cider on offer. The pub is open from noon until 11pm on each day with food available and live music by the Melody Beats from 8pm on Saturday 23rd April.
Easter Film Club Special
Our next regular Film Club evening is on Friday 15th April 2016; however….as part of the Easter Activities we will be showing the following film beginning at 7.30pm on Good Friday 25th March 2016 in the Methodist Church (thanks to Joe Caprani in the village for the loan of the DVD):The South African/ Wilton’s stage production of

Charity Coffee Morning this Tuesday
The next charity coffee morning at Haslingfield Methodist Church takes place this Tuesday 8th March. It happens on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 8.45am until 11.30am. It raises money for a different charity each month. Also, you can offer to organise and support a cause of your choice!
Tennis Club Quiz Night
The village Tennis Club is having a quiz night on Saturday 19th March, it will start at 8pm. Entry will be £20 per team and teams should be a maximum of 8. Numbers will be limited and so please contact the club (Gail_rutherford@hotmail.com) to reserve a place for your team as soon as possible. If you would like to take part but haven’t got enough for a team, please do let the club know and they’ll try to pair you up with some others. Remember, all friends and family welcome.
There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams, and there will be a raffle. There will also be nibbles and the Little Rose will be providing a bar on the night.
Film Club
The next Film Club will be at 7.30pm on Friday 11th March 2016.
We shall meet in the Haslingfield Methodist Church Rooms. Admission is free. Running time 91 min. Certificate: 15. We will break for refreshments half way through.
Race Night in Aid of Little Owls
Little Rose Pub
A Race night in aid of the village’s Little Owls playgroup is being held at the Little Rose Pub this Saturday 5th March. The first race is at 8pm and you can place bets of 50p on any horse. You can also sponsor a horse or jockey for £2, and if it wins, you win a bottle of bubbly. All the races are on video, so there’s no need to worry about the horse’s form, jockey, trainer or anything else as it’s mostly pot luck.
Pub Quiz This Friday 4th March
Little Rose Pub
The next Little Rose Pub Quiz will take place this Friday 4th March. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. The quiz takes place on the first Friday of every month.

A Great Evening
