The next charity coffee morning at Haslingfield Methodist Church takes place this Tuesday 8th March. It happens on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 8.45am until 11.30am. It raises money for a different charity each month. Also, you can offer to organise and support a cause of your choice!
The village Tennis Club is having a quiz night on Saturday 19th March, it will start at 8pm. Entry will be £20 per team and teams should be a maximum of 8. Numbers will be limited and so please contact the club (Gail_rutherford@hotmail.com) to reserve a place for your team as soon as possible. If you would like to take part but haven’t got enough for a team, please do let the club know and they’ll try to pair you up with some others. Remember, all friends and family welcome.
There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams, and there will be a raffle. There will also be nibbles and the Little Rose will be providing a bar on the night.

A Race night in aid of the village’s Little Owls playgroup is being held at the Little Rose Pub this Saturday 5th March. The first race is at 8pm and you can place bets of 50p on any horse. You can also sponsor a horse or jockey for £2, and if it wins, you win a bottle of bubbly. All the races are on video, so there’s no need to worry about the horse’s form, jockey, trainer or anything else as it’s mostly pot luck.
The next Little Rose Pub Quiz will take place this Friday 4th March. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. The quiz takes place on the first Friday of every month.
This Cambridge home has a story to tell. Tamsin Wimhurst, curator and local historian, will relate The Story ofThe David Parr House at The Haslingfield Village Society, Tuesday 15th March 2016, 8.00pm in Haslingfield Village Hall. Read more
On February 6th, the Haslingfield Village Society hosted another successful social evening with a meal and the superb FB Pocket Orchestra. A big thank you is due to all who made this possible, including the audience of supporters.
We are looking for two actors, a man in his 40s/50s and a woman in her 20s/early 30s, to complete the cast for our forthcoming production, the hilarious farce, Lend me a Tenor by Ken Ludwig. ‘The Story of Wheat’ by Jim Orson
Haslingfield Village Hall, Tuesday 16th Feb. at 8.00pm
Wheat is the dominant arable crop , both locally and nationally; our soils and climate are suited to its production. It is an important part of our diet, with around 80% of the flour used for our bread coming from UK-grown wheat. Globally it constitutes 20% of dietary energy. Our next production is the hilarious farce, Lend me a Tenor, by Ken Ludwig, which we are performing on 19, 20 and 21 May.
