Haslingfield Parish Council – Assistant to Parish Clerk

We are looking to find someone to assist the Parish Clerk for up to 4 hours a week, for a period of no less that six months.

The ideal candidate would have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, be a good administrator and have sound communication skills. You will be required to work up to four hours per week, mainly working from home. Full training will be given. The rate of pay will depend on experience but is likely to be in the range of £10.16 to £11.22 per hour.

Public Meeting: The Future of Cambridge Area’s Bus Services

Saturday 15 June 2019, 2pm – Saint Andrew’s Street Baptist Church, 43 Saint Andrew’s Street, Cambridge, CB2 3AR
Speakers from two local operators and other experts share their visions for the future.
The public debate will commence at around 2:30pm, preceded by Cambridge Area Bus Users Annual General Meeting at 2pm.

The Vintage Sports Car Club Rally – Sat June 22nd

The Vintage Sports Car Club will be running a Vintage Car event through the parish on Saturday June 22. The first car will be arriving from Barrington at about 0950 and leave towards Eversden. Most cars are expected to be through within one hour but those with navigational, car performance or other issues may continue passing through for a further hour or so! An Invitation to the Annual Parish Meeting 2019
Monday 20th May 2019 at 7.30pm – Haslingfield Village Hall 

This is your once-a-year chance to come and find out what the Parish Council has been doing in your name and help influence future plans.
We’ve invited our County and District Councillors and all parishioners are warmly invited to attend. We welcome questions and suggestions on any subject relevant to the community.

Topics will include:

  • Chair’s Report on activities in 2018/19 and priorities next year
  • Moveable Vehicle Activated Sign (MVAS) – results so far
  • East West Cambs Rail initiative and its impact for Haslingfield
  • Village Hall extension project
  • The £2000 bequest of the late Mrs Phillipson to Haslingfield Pavilion Committee

We aim to finish not later than 9:30 pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served during the evening by Little Owls (with voluntary donations to their funds).

Roadworks – Chapel Hill and Church St, Harston

The roadworks on Chapel Hill have now commenced. The contractor advises that, although the start was delayed, the roadworks should still end on May 17th 2019. Please note that there is also a road closure on Church St, Harston between 7th – 10th of May so both roads will regrettably be closed at the same time. This issue has been escalated to the County Council.
