eCops logoStopping distances, consequences of hitting a child and fuel consumption are a few things covered in the quiz to test your knowledge of the difference between driving at 20mph and 30mph. The quiz, has been created as part of a month-long THINK! speed campaign educating motorists of the consequences of speeding.
We are encouraging motorists to take part in the short quiz to test your knowledge of the difference between driving at 20mph and 30mph. The quiz can be found here: https://www.qzzr.com/c/quiz/248588/know-the-difference-cambridgeshire
If you kill someone while speeding, you will have to live with the long-term emotional consequences. Remember that speed limits are there for a reason. Traffic Sergeant Ian Manley

Haslingfield Art and Craft Workshop

From September, Haslingfield children’s art workshop is changing. I have been running the regular art workshop on a Thursday after school for eight years and now feel it is time for a change. In that time many children have made some wonderful crafts and I have really enjoyed being part of their creativity. Please have a look at the Haslingfield Art and Craft website to view their work. http://prue20.wix.com/artworkshop. I will still be organising workshops in the school holidays throughout the year so I will not be finishing completely. Meanwhile Christine Le Grand will be taking over the Thursday after school art club which will now be based in Haslingfield Primary school for key stage 2. You can contact Christine via artexplorerscambridge@gmail.com or Haslingfield Primary School for more information. Prue van der Hoorn

Local Crime – Remain vigilant

Whilst there have been no specific reports received from the police of crimes relating to Haslingfield, there are surrounding villages where the police have reported crimes relating to burglary or shed break-ins, vehicle thefts or thefts from vehicles.  The police encourage everyone to take a few extra seconds to check that their vehicle or home is secure before leaving it and removing any items of value from view.

The police are encouraging residents to do the “Bad Wolf Test” which is a security quiz aimed at homes in South Cambs. Stay safe and take the bad wolf test = www.tinyurl.com/Bad-Wolf-Test
