Can you drive? Would you like to help local people?

Why not become a volunteer driver with the Haslingfield and Harlton Community Car Scheme.

The scheme helps people who don’t have access to a car to get to medical appointments and other essential visits. As a volunteer driver you are completely in control of how much – or how little – driving you do. You provide details of your general availability to the Scheme Coordinator (Lawrence Hopkins), and when the Coordinator contacts you by phone or e-mail to ask if you can do a particular drive, you can say Yes or No – no pressure is applied! We need you to be a Parish Councillor!

Do YOU want to make a real difference and get involved in the important issues in the village such as environment, playground and skatepark, speeding on Barton road, parking near the school, buildings and planning regulation and many other issues then become a Haslingfield Parish Councillor.
The Haslingfield Parish Council meets on the second Monday of each month at 19:30 in the Village Hall. If you are interested in becoming involved with running the parish and contributing to decision making which affects YOUR village please contact the Parish Clerk, Vicky Crowden on 07495 435029, email: Vicky Crowden or attend one of the monthly meetings and get a feeling as to what is involved. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

We now only have 5 councillors (out of a compliment of 11) and are in real danger of becoming part of Harston parish if we cannot attract more councillors! With little time spent you can make a real difference!

Village Society Talk

The new season of Haslingfield Village Society talks begins with one of the Society’s favourite speakers, Michael Coles, who will speak about “Further Travels in India – Weaving about in Gujarat.” Few overseas visitors make their way to the state of Gujarat. This is the State of Mahatma Gandhi, where he encouraged craft skills and started his non-violence journey to independence. Gujarat is in parts densely populated but elsewhere a desert, and the home for many people making exquisite textiles. This talk will take us from the big cities, through the villages, to the Arabian Sea. Tuesday, 18th September 2018, 8:00 PM, Haslingfield Village Hall.
Everyone is very welcome to any of our events and meetings. Members and youngsters are free. A small charge is made for visitors.
