University of Cambridge solar farm proposal

As you may have seen in recent press the University of Cambridge has committed to achieving a science-based zero carbon target for its estate by 2048.  As part of its efforts to achieve this target, the University is hoping to build a solar farm on land to the south east of the Lordsbridge Radio telescope, to provide low carbon electricity to service the University’s estate and significantly reduce their carbon emissions.  Ahead of a planning application being made hopefully later this year, they are launching a public consultation to obtain views and inform the scheme design.

Connections Bus Youth Club Outdoors from 9 June

The Connections Bus is back with an outdoor youth club at the Haslingfield Village Hall car park.  Starting Wednesday 9 June from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Lots of outdoor activities, as well as a free hot drink, the usual friendly youth workers, support and advice from the back of a van!  Ages 11-18.

The Bank Holiday weekend is almost upon us and there are some delightful food van treats to help you have great long weekend!  At the Haslingfield Village Hall this week (5-8pm):  Thursday (27/5): Buffalo Joes.  Their fantastic flavour packed creations will ensure your fingers are sticky with their lip-smacking delights!  Friday (28/5): La Biga. the regular pizza gurus.  Saturday (29/5): La Levantina Paella. Authentic paella cooked on site to delight your tastebuds!

The rain may dampen our shoes (!) but you know our favourite food vans will be there to cheer us up!  At the Haslingfield Village Hall this week (5-8pm): Thursday (20/5): Kerief Catering with their lovely Caribbean inspired flavours. Friday (21/5): La Biga the sourdough Pizza kings.  Saturday (22/5): Apple & Jalapeño are back with their tasty array of burgers.  Specials will be announced on the pitch day so keep a look out for that!

PANTO NEWS: NOVEMBER 2021

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we are planning to put on Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves on 25, 26, 27 November 2021 at Haslingfield Village Hall. This is, of course, dependent on prevailing Government Guidelines.
