Barrington Cement Works: very near, very important, very interesting.
Its geography, history, archaeology, and stories of 44 years of employment there are the subjects of the next Haslingfield Village Society talk. John Drayton, who received an MBE for services to the Quarry Industry and Geology, will be presenting this comprehensive talk. Something for everyone, Tues., 21 January 2014, Haslingfield Village Hall, 8PM. All are welcome; members and school age FREE. Small charge for visitors.
Our next play is 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD, which we will be performing on 15, 16, and 17 May. This wonderful production is a dramatization of letters between a struggling New York writer (Helen Hanff) and an antiquarian bookseller in London, and takes places over a 20-year period. Read more
On Sunday, 19th January, workshops will begin for children wanting to join Haslingfield Young Little Theatre. As well as acting on the stage, participants will learn about lights, costumes and props, and undertake practical sessions on making sounds and doing scary makeup. Read more

On Sunday 22nd September the Tennis Club presented “Tea at The Ritz” in the Village Hall. The Village Hall was transformed into the Parlour of The Ritz Hotel, and 76 guests enjoyed a 3-course High Tea of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream followed by a huge selection of delicious home baked cakes.
