Yesterday in New Road a bungalow was broken into by forcing a rear kitchen window and jewellery was stolen. It is believed the offence occurred at around 8.20pm and the offender was disturbed. A similar offence took place on 21st November, also in New Road, when a house was burgled and jewellery was also taken. This was at dusk time. Read more

One of the ‘Big New Ideas’ from the Coalition Government regarding education relates to ‘Teaching Schools’. This is the suggestion that some schools nationally should be designated with this title. The notion and the terminology are based on the model of ‘Teaching Hospitals’. Yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 28th) a burglary to a home in Ermine Way, Arrington occurred at around 3.50pm. A white male and a black male were seen to run away from the premises across fields. Read more

Between the hours of 8.10am and 1.26pm, a burglary occurred at a property in Main Street, Hatley St. George. Unknown offender(s) forced entry, conducted an untidy search throughout and left removing keys to a vehicle and the property. Read more

Patrols across the county were increased last night in response to disorders in London and other cities. The county remained relatively quiet with one isolated incident of disorder in Cambridge which resulted in five arrests. Read more
