Green bin collections suspended

NEWS RELEASE FROM South Cambs District Council

Green bin collections across Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire will not take place between Monday 23 March and Monday 4 May.
The Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service, a partnership between Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire District Councils, has made the decision in order to support staff and the recycling and waste service as a whole during the Coronavirus outbreak. Read more

Notice of Road Resurfacing works

Note that the roadworks have not started today as advised but the notice now states:  The Barton Road, Haslingfield will be closed for resurfacing work for up to 10 days from 9 – 13 & 16 – 20 March (Mon-Fri) between 07:30-18:30. This is from the southern edge of the bridge to the first speed-bump in Haslingfield.

Diversion Route:
Haslingfield Road, Barton – A603 – Eversden Road, Harlton – High Street – Haslingfield Road – Harlton Road, Haslingfield – Church Street and vice versa

Saturday 7th March 2020 – 2.00pm,  Haslingfield Village Hall. Please support us with any CAKES, JUMBLE, TOYS or GAMES. Please drop off items on the day at the Village Hall (10am – 12pm),  or Phone Nick on 871465 to arrange collection – Please note we cannot accept any electrical items.

Skate Park meeting on Thursday 27 February 2020 at the Village Hall at 7.30 pm

The Skate Park is now showing a lot of wear and tear and one of the pieces of equipment was removed over the Christmas period. We should now decide what is the future of this very important facility for the village. Anyone is welcome to come along to this first meeting, please do bring any ideas or comments you may have and we look forward to seeing you.

Haslingfield Friends of Cam Sight Lecture (4 March – 7:30pm)

Continuing the programme of fundraising lectures, the Friends of Cam Sight are delighted to present an evening with Professor Sir David John Spiegelhalter OBE FRS. His talk on ‘communicating health risks and scientific uncertainty’, is sure to be entertaining, informative and fun! The  Broad Lane pathway ( alongside Wellhouse Meadow )  from High Street to  Butler Way  will be  closed  to  pedestrians and  equestrians  from 02/03/20 until 04/05/20 for  Gas Works.
