In the Steps of the Bishop

Sponsored walk, 23 September

2017 will be the 9th year in succession when a sponsored walk has been held from the Chapel of Gonville & Caius College in Cambridge to Haslingfield Church to commemorate the walks undertaken by Bishop Charles Mackenzie on Sundays to help with services in Haslingfield.   He later went as a missionary bishop to what is now Malawi and his memorial window may be seen at the east end of the south aisle in the church. Chess for Children

Haslingfield Kings and Queens Chess Club.  
 For children aged 6-13: drop in to play chess  in Haslingfield Methodist Church at 5.00pm on July 6th, 20th and 30th .  £2 per session.

From September the club will meet in the school on Thursdays at 5.00pm, during term time.

Community Bake Up on Well House Meadow

Saturday 10 June from 9.00 am, baking 11.00 am until 1.00 pm
Free!  Bring your own bread or scone dough.  Coffee, tea and beverages will be available. This is traditionally a happy, very social occasion with people sharing if so inclined.  If you want to be involved in firing up the oven, the team will welcome you to the Bake House at 9:00AM.  For more information contact:

Poetry Evening

Haslingfield Little Theatre is holding Poetry Evening at Haslingfield Village Hall on Friday 28th April, starting at 7:30pm, cost £1. Please do come along and support us. We will be sitting round cafe-style tables, so bring your own drink, nibbles will be provided and enjoy listening to some poetry.

Next Film Club Evening

The next Film Club meeting will be on Friday 5th May 2017 at 7.30pm.  We shall meet in Haslingfield Methodist Church Rooms.  Admission is free.  Film running time 91 min. Certificate: 12+.  We break for tea, coffee and biscuits, half way through.  ‘Hard of hearing’ subtitles will be used.

Bake House Openings this Summer

Summertime and the Haslingfield Wellhouse Meadow is a lovely place to visit.  It is available to enjoy for all, including dogs, and a safe place for children. Why not come when the Bake House on the meadow is open with a display of the large photo archive of the village available to view?  The Village Society is there from 10 AM until 12 Noon on these dates: Saturdays – 13 May, 8 July, 12 August, 9 September.
