Many of the outdoor play facilities at Haslingfield Primary School are in disrepair, this is of particular concern given the emphasis on outdoor activity in the new Physical Education curriculum. As Government funding for Cambridgeshire schools is notoriously low the PTFA is working with Ms. Peck (Leading Senior Teacher and PE Coordinator) to raise money for a new outdoor play facility called a Play Trail. The Haslingfield Primary School Christmas Fayre is on Friday 5th DecemberThere’s a lot going on: Stalls, games,crafts, live music from the school brass band, a cafe serving hot drinks and delicious cakes and of course a visit from Santa himself!

September’s cream tea afternoon at the Dovecote in Haslingfield raised £720 for Parkinson’s UK. Many thanks to all who came.
South Cambridgeshire District Council have announced changes to our Green Bin Collection during the months of December, January and February. Starting this Friday 21 November, our green bins will be emptied monthly, instead of fortnightly.

Haslingfield’s own, Ruth Hatfield, has just had her first novel published by Hot Key Books in the UK. It will also be published in the USA in January 2015. Ruth was born and brought up in Haslingfield and went to the village school and Comberton Village College before starting her career as an archaeologist. We are delighted to let you know that professional photographer Anna Marriage (www.marriagephoto.co.uk) will be coming to the Methodist Church on Tuesday 25th November between 3pm and 6pm. You can now buy your tickets for Haslingfield Little Theatre’s panto, Jack and the Beanstalk. Performances are on 27, 28 and 29 November at Haslingfield Village Hall, and start at 7.30 p.m. with a matinee performance at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday 29 November.
The show will include a seven-foot giant, a beanstalk that grows to 15 feet before your very eyes, a strangely attractive dame, a dancing cow, great song and dance numbers, as well, of course, as the thigh-slapping Principal Boy!

The ‘Flu Clinic will take place on Thursday 23rd October from 2.15pm to 3.00pm at Haslingfield Methodist Church.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the sustainable parish energy partnership projects last year in the village. We had a great turnout at our Energy Day and fantastic feedback from the Thermal Imaging surveys – hopefully it was all useful!
This year we are not running any events in the village, however SPEP is still operating across the district and everyone is welcome at neighbouring parish events! We can also still organise for residents to borrow and use various equipment from South Cambs, including Energy monitors and the NEW energy saving light bulb library all for FREE!
