Meet at the Wisbey’s Yard Community Room (off the High St.), sing some carols for the residents then follow a route in the village via Broad Lane, the Vicarage, Butler way, Dodds Mead, Church St. and High St.,ending at The Little Rose Pub at 8:00PM for carols, a drink and mince pies. Come along with your warmest clothes and a torch to sing favourite carols while collecting much-needed funds for Action For Children‘s appeal to build a sensory garden in their care home for severely disabled children, in Harston. Come along for all or part of the route, it’s great fun!
A reflective service for Advent using Taizé worship is taking place at All Saints’ Church in the village this Wednesday 14th December, between 7pm and 8pm.
A Taizé worship service typically involves sung and chanted prayers, meditation, a period of silence, liturgical readings, and icons. There is no preaching.
This year’s village Carol Singing will end up in the Little Rose Pub from 8pm on Friday 16th December. All the money raised will go towards Action For Children. The carol singing will start off at 6.30pm in the Community Room of Wisbey’s Yard (which is just off the High Street) and the singers will then wander around the village, carol singing as they go, ending up in the Little Rose pub where they’ll be free mince pies for anyone who joins in. Either just join the group as the go around the village or meet them in the pub from 8pm..
Tonight, Saturday 10th December, sees a Charity Fund Raising Race Night at the Little Rose Pub. First race is at 8pm. Bets only 50p and no knowledge necessary as it’s all complete luck. All money raised goes to Haslingfield Play Group the Little Owls. It features video horse racing but may also include different kinds of racing! This is one of many events taking place throughout December in the village’s last pub. More details to the side.
