The next Pop-Up Coffee Shop at the Methodist Church is Tuesday 14th June 8:45 – 11:30am in aid of Ovarian Cancer. In April the shop raised £150 for the Alzheimer’s Society. Come along for fairtrade tea, coffee, cakes and pastries. Why not pop-in for breakfast after the school run?

This Whitsun Bank Holiday Monday, 30th May, the Village Shop is open Sunday Opening Hours, namely 8am to 4pm. The Post Office will be closed. The shop and post office reopen after major refurbishment this Friday 27th May. The opening times for the rest of the weekend are as normal, namely:-
Saturday: 8.00 am – 6.00 pm
Sunday: 8.00 am – 4.00 pm
With the post office open as usual on Saturday 9am – 12.30pm and closed on Sunday.
The Village Shop & Post Office in Haslingfield will be closed for refurbishment on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th May. It will re-open as usual on Friday 27th May. If you need to use a post office during this time, the nearest one is in Harston at 28 High Street, Harston CB22 7PX which is open from 9am – 5.30pm on both days and offers the same range of Post Office Services. Customers will still be able to collect benefits in cash from there.

The Village Shop now accepts payments from major credit and debit cards as it has a new chip and pin machine which can be used whenever the shop is open.
Remember that the shop sells the NATIONAL LOTTERY and lottery scratch cards. It also supplies newspapers and magazines, a wide range of groceries and confectionery, fresh milk, hot drinks, cold drinks, wines and spirits, greeting cards and stationery, plus ‘bits and pieces’ such as batteries, drawing pins, etc. Fresh bread and cakes are delivered daily from Newnham Bakery and a selection of Hovis ready cut loaves are also available.
The Village Shop is closed all day Easter Sunday but is open the usual hours on Good Friday (7am until 7pm), Easter Saturday (8am until 6pm) and Easter Monday (7am until 7pm). The post office is closed on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday (as usual) and Easter Monday. The post office will reopen on Tuesday 29th March (9am until 5.30pm).

HAIR 2000 will close permanently on 19th February after many years of dedicated service to our community. But all is not lost: Jo will be cutting men’s hair at The Little Rose on alternate Wednesday mornings, starting on 24th February between 9,30 am and 12.30 pm . This will be a ‘drop in’ service rather than by appointment, and dry cuts only.
Sounds like another institution in the making – not every barber’s shop has a pool table!
