There has been a break-in at the Haslingfield Village Hall during the night from 5th October – 6th October. 2 windows have been damaged and intruder(s) gained access by removing one of the windows overlooking the recreation ground. Apart from the damage to the windows it does not appear that anything has been stolen or damaged. If anyone has any information regarding this incident then please contact Janet Hendy or Ron van der Hoorn with details. Read more
The area that has been prepared for the wildflower project is looking in very good shape (nearly everything dead, soil warm and damp) ready for seeding on Monday of next week. Rather than rotovate the soil the District Ecology Officer has advised that it would be better if it was lightly raked. This is therefore a request for as many people as possible to come and lend a hand either on Sunday afternoon – 29th September – at 3pm, or on Monday 30th at 1.30pm. If you are able to come just bring yourself and a rake, even better bring a friend and two rakes. With lots of us the job will be done in no time. The picture shows the annual wildflowers sown on the bonfire site which made a wonderful display this summer (click on it).
Many thanks

Haslingfield and Harlton Parish Councils have now taken over all responsibilities for ‘The Connections Youth Bus’, to ensure that our young people continue to benefit from this very valuable facility.
If you have children (year 7 onwards) please encourage them to come along to Haslingfield Village Hall Car Park on a Wednesday after school (16.00 to 18.00) to enjoy the benefits accruing from the commitment of our Parish Council. The youth workers will be delighted to welcome them on board. Read more
Over the first three weekends in May a group of volunteers did a major cutback and clearance of the vegetation along the 60m (120′) of the school boundary in School Lane. The result is the resurrection of part of the concrete pavement which runs all the way from the school to Chestnut Close (apart from the grassy section between the bollards).
The Parish Council is looking to appoint a new committee to run the Village Hall. We are looking for two or three people to handle the administration and ensure everything is running smoothly. The committee will report to the Parish Council who own the hall and the recreation ground. Read more
