Guided Rare Orchid Walk to Haslingfield Quarry

This walk and talk by Parish Councillor Clive Blower, organised by the Haslingfield and Harlton Eco Group, includes historical information about the Quarry and nearby cottages and an optional climb to the top of Money Hill, with 360 degree panoramic views across the south of the county and north to the spires of Cambridge. Easy walk to the Quarry from the bottom of Quarry Lane, off Back Lane/School Lane. The walk to the top of Money Hill is moderately steep and can be slippery when wet. Nettles and brambles are common – wear sturdy shoes and long trousers. BYO drinks/sunhats. Meet at 2 pm sharp at the bottom of Quarry Lane. Part of the Cambridge Nature Festival. Hi Clive, we have met in the past sorry to miss the orchid walk on Sunday but I am in the quarry now and I don’t seem to be so many orchids as previously. Would you say it’s not such a good year this year or am I just too late Have spotted one bee, orchid and lots of common spotted but no twayblade yet or man orchid yet any tips where to look?
