Textile Bank at Porkers Lane

South Cambridgeshire District Council provides a network of textile and book recycling banks across the District. The contractor delivering this service notified the council late last week that they will begin removing all banks during week commencing 15 February and 22 February.
This extreme lack of notice has not allowed an alternative arrangement to be put in place and regrettably there will be a period where recycling bring facilities will not be available. For more details, click Read more

CHANGES at the VILLAGE HALL

Christine Tod is retiring from taking the Bookings at the Village Hall at the end 2014. Christine’s history with the Village Hall has been long and illustrious, not just with the Village Hall as we know it now but with the old one as well. Christine was instrumental in getting the New Village Hall being built in 1994, which wasn’t as popular as we can imagine. After a lot of campaigning as to whether or not Haslingfield had a new hall went to the vote, and was won with a majority of just seven votes. We thank Christine for her tireless work which has always been executed with humour and friendliness.

We are delighted to announce that Terry Baker has agreed to take the Village Hall bookings. Terry has lived in the Haslingfield, for the most part, since 1968 and has always played an active role in the Village; keeping scores for the Cricket Club and being a Leader with the Playgroup. But most of us know Terry from her valued 25 years involvement with the Little Theatre. We wish Terry good luck in her new role.

Booking for the Village Hall from 1 January 2015 should now be made to Terry on telephone number 01223 872150 or on her email terrybaker872@gmail.com
