A reminder that East West Rail are seeking feedback to their consultation on the proposed rail section between Bedford and Cambridge. There are five routes being considered – we encourage you to read the information provided and give your feedback at www.eastwestrail.co.uk/haveyoursay before the deadline passes on Monday 11th March 2019.
There is a planned power cut in parts of Haslingfield between 8:30-16:30 on 12th/13th March. This forms part of essential maintenance to replace wooden poles and power lines along the High Street and Harston Road.
Households affected will have received a notification.
4-11 March: UK Power Networks have advised that they will be undertaking upgrade work on the overhead lines in various locations along the High St / Harston Rd requiring some traffic control measures.
Concerns have been raised locally that the 75 bus service is being withdrawn. Cambs County Council have, however, confirmed that this is incorrect and it is the contract for this service that is expiring. Apparently bus operators have already submitted their applications as part of the re-tendering process and County Councillors are expected to vote on this in March (date tbc). Previous advice was that they expect to maintain services in the short term. The Parish Council has, however, taken this opportunity to write to our assigned County Councillors to both point out the value of this service to its users and seek their reassurance that it will continue.
