Skatepark Update

Haslingfield Parish Council is pleased to announce we are commencing building work on Monday 19th June. Completion is expected within 3 months, but we’re hopeful this will be sooner.

Thanks to all those that were able to come to the consultation, we had some great feedback and have tweaked the design accordingly.

The current area will be closed from Sunday evening, 18th June.

Thanks to everyone who has been involved in the project to date. It’s taken over 2 years to get to this point so it’s very exciting to finally get started on the build!

We’ll keep you updated as work progresses and any questions please get in touch.  You can contact Lise Jackson, Parish Clerk on 01223 870269 or clerk@haslingfieldparishcouncil.gov.uk.

A glimpse of the future?

This is the best visualisation I have seen of what Chapel/Money Hill would look like during the construction of EWR. If we are lucky enough to get a cut and cover tunnel.

Two Vacant Plots: Haslingfield Allotment

Two plots have recently become vacant on the Haslingfield Allotment:
One is full sized plot in a recently developed area, has magnificent rhubarb plants, compost bin, water butt, and some black plastic covering part of it, so probably ready to be planted with only a little bit of work. Has fence & gate intact: £9(Haslingfield resident) £10 (non-Haslingfield resident) until end of year (October 2023).
Half sized plot has gooseberries, currant bushes & raspberry canes, large raised bed, gate needs replacing, fence needs some work (£4.50/£5 to end of year).

Guided Orchid Walk to Haslingfield Quarry: Sunday 11th June, 2 pm

Meet at the bottom of Quarry Lane (back of Chestnut Close).

Haslingfield’s ancient clunch pit, used in medieval times for building materials for some of the colleges as well as All Saints Church, is now a rare chalk grassland rich in wildflowers, including at least four species of orchid. Join this guided walk, led by Clive Blower, which is part of the Cambridge Nature Festival (https://www.cambridgeppf.org/Event/cambridge-nature-festival) to learn more of the history of this special area and how to identify the orchids.

Booking not required, walk leaves at 2 pm sharp. Questions to hasandharlecogroup@gmail.com   Read more
