Haslingfield Big Coronation Picnic – Sunday 7th May

You are cordially invited to join your friends and neighbours on Sunday 7th May for Haslingfield’s Big Coronation Picnic, at the Wellhouse Meadow picnic area from 12 – 3 pm. It’s a bring your own picnic, with refreshments by Little Owls Preschool.

So dust off those picnic blankets, make some of your favourite sandwiches, and come and join us for a right royal afternoon!

Shared lunch at Noon – The Eco Group will be sharing some homemade planet-friendly dishes and treats with everyone. If you can, please bring a dish to share. Please list ingredients due to allergens – or share the whole recipe on a card people can take a picture of!

Come and see what our village has to offer! Haslingfield Village Hall, April 22nd

On Saturday April 22nd fifteen local groups and organisations will be contributing to a Fair in Haslingfield Village Hall. Doors will be open between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

This will be your chance to see the variety of activities going on in Haslingfield, and perhaps to sign up and join in. Sport, entertainment, music-making, gardening and a host of other pastimes will be represented.

So if you are interested, or just curious, do pop in and see us on April 22nd.  Tea and coffee will be available.

Community Share Fair for the Big Help Out: Coronation Bank Holiday, 8 May

Come to the Haslingfield Village Hall and Rec this ‘Big Help Out’ Coronation Bank Holiday, 8 May, 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm, to celebrate what our talented and generous locals have to offer! 

Shared lunch – If you are able to, please bring a planet-friendly finger-food contribution with a copy of the recipe to share (with ingredients due to allergens). The Eco Group will also be sharing homemade planet-friendly treats.

Haslingfield Colts present: Movie Night, April 22nd, Elvis (12A)

Haslingfield Colts are hosting a movie night on Saturday April 22nd at 7.30 pm at Haslingfield Village Hall and have chosen the film Elvis.  The money will be used to help bring 80 of their youth players to Wembley on May 14th to watch the Women’s FA Cup Final. This is part of an initiative at Haslingfield Colts to increase the number of girls participating in football in Haslingfield. In 3 years, they have gone from having 4% of their players being female to 24% this year.

18 April – Haslingfield Village Society Talk: King James, Palace at Royston

The next Haslingfield Village Society Talk will be:
King James I Palace at Royston by Nicky Paton, Royston Museum manager
Tuesday 18th April, 8:00pm, Haslingfield Village Hall 

Nicky will take you on a virtual tour around Royston to discover King James Ist’s extensive palace and favourite countryside retreat there.  With artistic recreations of the royal estate, you will learn about the significant events that happened in Royston during his reign, and that of his son King Charles I – from the Gunpowder Plot to the English Civil War!

Charity Race Night at Haslingfield Village Hall

Riding for the Disabled Barton group are hosting a Fun Virtual Race Night with Bar and Raffle on Saturday 18th Feb 18.30-23.00 at Haslingfield Village Hall.

The Event will raise funds for a larger and higher safer mounting platform to help our special children mount as independently as possible with our support. This will help with their confidence, co-ordination and balance and set them up to be more relaxed and ready to enjoy their riding. Tickets are £5 per adult from laura_j_griffiths@yahoo.co.uk
