About This Website

The Haslingfield Village Website was created by a team of Haslingfield residents in 2010 – with the aim of enhancing community life in Haslingfield, through easier communication within the village.

The website’s design (in blog format) allows you to:

  • Access the latest village news on the Home Page. You can scroll down to find out what’s been going on, adding your own comment(s), if you so wish.
  • Look under separate headings for the specific information you require.
  • Contribute articles to the website yourself.

For ease of access the website is divided into these sections:

Calendar
You will be able to see events happening in the village in calendar format and as a list of What’s On events for at-a-glance information on current and forthcoming village events.

Social
Get the latest news on your group(s), or become a contributor yourself. We also have an archive of dormant/expired social groups that you can view by contacting the Web Team.

Youth
Find out what your children (or you, if you are a child) can do in the village.

Faith
Covers  All Saints Church, the Methodist Church and the Catholic House Group – giving information on services and church events.

Village News
What are the hot topics being discussed by residents? What are the Cambridge Evening News stories saying? Are people really tweeting about our famous biennial Scarecrow Festival? You’ll find the answer and any other general village info – e.g. school closures, icy roads etc. right here!

Parish Council
Get to know who our Parish Councillors are, and stay informed of Parish meetings and their minutes. You can also find out about our Village Hall and how to book it for your own events.

Haslingfield
Here, you’ll find a brief description of Haslingfield, along with some lovely village photos; the history of the village and our primary school; a fascinating archive of village photos in days past, and the School Logbook in Victorian Times. This section also comprises the Haslingfield Photo Gallery; an interactive map of Haslingfield; and a very useful map of the footpaths around the village.

This Website
Together with this page, this section will tell you how to contribute articles and calendar events yourself; and how to become a regular contributor.

Who will keep it current?
All villagers and those connected to Haslingfield can contribute articles – the more people contribute the more useful the website will be. To ensure that only relevant information is included, every contributor’s article will be checked by one of the editors (more info. can be found on Adding Articles Section).
