This Sunday, 29th October is the last chance for the special reduced price for Sunday Lunches at The Little Rose, the last remaining pub in Haslingfield. For today only they’ll cost £5-95 for adults and £3-95 for children. There’s a choice of meats and a vegetarian option. Come and help Sue, the Landlady of the Little Rose, celebrate her birthday on Saturday 4th November. The singing Duo of Dance Til Dawn will be performing live and free at the Little Rose from 8pm. This Friday 27th October sees the next Little Rose Pub Quiz, which takes place on the last Friday of every month. Teams of any number, up to a maximum of six, can take part. Cost of entry is only £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. We can also make up teams from whoever turns up on the night. The quiz now takes place on the last Friday of every month. It’s great fun with a good number of all local teams taking part. There’s 6 rounds covering many topics including a topical quiz round as well as a picture round. The quiz finishes around 10pm with a break halfway through.
Haslingfield Little Theatre’s next show will be the musical, Oliver! music, lyrics & book by Lionel Bart. The show will be performed at Haslingfield Village Hall on 23, 24 and 25 November at 7.30 pm, with a matinee performance on 25 November at 2.30 pm.

The Little Rose, the last pub in the village, is holding a free Children’s Halloween Party on Saturday 28th October from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. It’s a fancy dress party and there’s prizes for the best outfit.
Later in the evening, there will be a special Halloween disco for adults from 8.30pm until late. Music will be from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
The Naked Scientists are a team of scientists, doctors and communicators whose passion is to help the general public to understand and engage with the worlds of science, technology and medicine. Chris Smith, a medical consultant specialising in clinical microbiology and virology at Cambridge University and its teaching hospital, Addenbrooke’s, laid the foundations for the Naked Scientists radio show, podcast and website back in 1999. He currently co-presents the Naked Scientists and has published 4 popular science books internationally. He lives just outside Cambridge with his wife, Sarah, who is a local GP.
