(This is due to a sold out theatre/pantomime event at the Village Hall.) Fear not, however – there are tasty and heart warming curries available from Pop and Bharti for dine-in (at the Mohak Cafe) or take away (from the village shop). Following the success of the Christmas Tree on the Village Green last year, the Parish Council have decided to continue with this tradition each year by purchasing the tree and using the lights you generously sponsored last year. The purchase of the tree and the provision of the electric power to the lights is quite costly, so we are giving the villagers a chance to sponsor the tree again this year. To save the fees of crowdfunding, sponsorship should be sent directly to the Parish Council bank account via bank transfer, or cash or a cheque can be accepted. Please contact the Parish Clerk on clerk@haslingfieldparish.co.uk or 01223 870269 for details.

The Councils are inviting comments, via public consultation, on the Greater Cambridge Local Plan First Proposals.
The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) will shortly be launching two public consultations on proposals to help people move around the area more easily and sustainably.
The Cambridge Eastern Access consultation will ask for views on proposals for cycling and walking improvements on Newmarket Road, while the ‘Making Connections’ consultation is part of the GCP’s City Access project and will ask for views on proposals to transform public transport, cycling and walking as well as reducing pollution and congestion in the area.

Cambridgeshire County Council has informed us that the resurfacing works are now substantially complete and New Road has now re-opened. The contractors have advised that they still need to: replace the ironwork on 7 manhole covers, finish off some works to the kerbs and finally complete the line painting.
This work can all be undertaken without road closures using localised two-way traffic control. They have scheduled these final elements to be done Tuesday 26 October and Wednesday 27 October.
