The next Pop Up Coffee shop is this Tuesday 11th April, 8:45 – 11:30am, in aid of The Feeding Project, Vellore India.

This is run by a charity that works with the poorest people in India.  It offers hot food to elders, who would otherwise go hungry.

The Pop Up Shop takes place at the Methodist Church from 8:45- 11:30am.  Come & enjoy cakes, croissants, filter coffee & tea (fair trade of course) and help raise funds for The Feeding Project, Vellore.

The monthly Little Rose Pub Quiz now takes place on the last Friday of every month. So the next quiz will take place this Friday 31st March from 8pm. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team with all the entry fees given out as cash prizes. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. We can also make up teams from whoever turns up on the night. The quiz now takes place on the last Friday of every month. It’s great fun with a good number of all local teams taking part. There’s 6 rounds covering many topics including a picture round. The quiz finishes around 10pm with a break halfway through.

Watch England Rugby on the Big Screen

Watch the England Rugby team on the Big Screen at the Little Rose pub and enjoy cheap beer! England will become only the sixth team in 107 years to complete back-to-back Grand Slams, if they beat Ireland in Dublin in Saturday’s (18th March) final rugby union Six Nations match. England can also set a new top-tier record with their 19th successive Test win. Watch all the action on the big screen in the village’s last pub when the big game kick’s off at 5pm with 50p off every pint.

The Outlaw Eagles are a tribute to the Eagles, one of the worlds greatest and best selling bands of all time. The band hail from Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. They’ll be performing live at the Little Rose this Saturday 18th February from 8.30pm and entry is FREE.

This Friday 13th January sees another in the highly popular Darts Tournaments. First arrow is thrown at 8pm and all takes place in the Little Rose Pub, the village’s last remaining pub. Cost of entry is only £3 per player and just turn up on the night. Any ability is welcome and a range of prizes is up for grabs, including a very impressive trophy for the overall winner. Christmas Eve: Noon – late. Free Juke box all night.
Christmas Day: Noon – 3pm.
Boxing Day: Noon – late.
Bank Holiday Tuesday: 2pm – late.
Wednesday 28th December: 2pm – late.
Thursday 29th December: 2pm – late.
Friday 30th December: 2pm – late.
New Year’s Eve: 2pm until early hours. Free Disco from 8pm to welcome in the New Year.
New Year’s Day: Noon – late

A reflective service for Advent using Taizé worship is taking place at All Saints’ Church in the village this Wednesday 14th December, between 7pm and 8pm.

A Taizé worship service typically involves sung and chanted prayers, meditation, a period of silence, liturgical readings, and icons. There is no preaching.

This year’s village Carol Singing will end up in the Little Rose Pub from 8pm on Friday 16th December. All the money raised will go towards Action For Children. The carol singing will start off at 6.30pm in the Community Room of Wisbey’s Yard (which is just off the High Street) and the singers will then wander around the village, carol singing as they go, ending up in the Little Rose pub where they’ll be free mince pies for anyone who joins in. Either just join the group as the go around the village or meet them in the pub from 8pm..

Tonight, Saturday 10th December, sees a Charity Fund Raising Race Night at the Little Rose Pub. First race is at 8pm. Bets only 50p and no knowledge necessary as it’s all complete luck. All money raised goes to Haslingfield Play Group the Little Owls. It features video horse racing but may also include different kinds of racing! This is one of many events taking place throughout December in the village’s last pub. More details to the side.
