LOCAL GLIDING CLUB

glider1Haslingfield is fortunate in being only 20 minutes from one of the country’s premier gliding clubs, and we have several village residents who are club members.
Gliding is a form of flight that is both beautiful and exciting.  Nothing can quite match the thrill of flying silently, giving a birds-eye view over the surrounding countryside of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and beyond.  Gliders from Gransden Lodge Airfield often fly two or three hundred miles on a good day.

Film Club

movie cameraThere will  be no film club in May 2013 because of other commitments, but I can thoroughly recommend the Haslingfield Little Theatre production  on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of May.   The evening will consist of two very amusing plays and there will be the usual refreshment bar.  Tickets at the village shop – don’t leave it too late to buy!

HELP FOR DIAL-A-RIDE

BusThe Cambridge Dial-a-Ride Service  provides volunteer operated mini-bus services  and assistance for people who have difficulty accessing or using other means of transport.  The service covers  Haslingfield  and now they need our help.  They have been selected to share in £10000 of funding put up by The Cambridge Building Society in their Cash for The Community programme and they need our assistance to obtain the biggest share possible. All you have to do is collect as many as possible of the tokens that will be appearing in Cambridge Evening News until 25th February.  The more tokens collected in their name the more will be their share of the £10000.  The collected tokens should be put into an envelope with Cambridge Dial-a-Ride on the front and delivered to The Village Shop or to Alan Edwards (60 Barton Road).
