FILM CLUB

The next Film Club will be on Friday 1st November at 7.30pm.   (This is not on the second Friday of the month because of the Jazz Night at the Village Hall on the 8th November)

We shall meet in Haslingfield Methodist Church Rooms.  Admission is free and we break for tea, coffee and biscuits half way through.   Running time of the film is 114min; Certificate: 15 (Strong language); ‘Hard of hearing’ subtitles will be used.

To avoid having a fixed charge for the evening we have opted (for copyright reasons) not to advertise details of the films on notice boards, on the village web site or in the Church and Village Magazine.   As an alternative we ask for a voluntary donation of from £3 each to cover cost of refreshments and use of the premises.   Please invite friends and let me know if there are others who would like to be included on the email list.

A selected Imdb review

I was bowled over by the brilliant humour and heartwarming story of redemption and reconciliation.  Watch this movie, tell your friends about it and talk about it. It deserves to be seen both on its own merit and as one of the few films to represent working class northerners in a human light, displaying their unique sense of humour and kindness as well as dealing with the emotional fallout of war in a mature way.

Best wishes

Phil
