Haslingfield’s First Repair Cafe

Haslingfield’s very first Repair Café on February 18th at the Village Hall was a great success and got us featured on the front page of the Cambridgeshire Repair Cafe Network newsletter. We had a go at repairing 48 items – from a toy drone to an electric piano keyboard, from a broken bracelet to two shirts with frayed collars. Nearly everything was successfully mended, or the next steps identified, free of charge, by an amazing team of 10 volunteer repairers from the Cambridgeshire Repair Café Network. Feedback was very positive, including: “Very helpful! “Relaxing and kind cafe,” and “Excellent Result!” Tea and cakes were provided by Little Owls. As well as saving money, repairing things helps reduce waste and save resources and so helps protect the planet, as shown in this visual breakdown of our repair statistics.
