All Saints Church Restoration and redecoration January to April 2024
Thanks to the generous contributions and legacies from villagers and our congregation, All Saints’ Church has been able to start the first phase of high level restoration work in the Nave. Grants towards this work were received from The Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust (£3,000) and The Benefact Trust (£4,000).
The repairs to the stonework and the fresh new decoration of the central Nave are a great improvement and the conservation and painting of the interior arches by Matthew Beesley the Conservator is exceptional. The historic lead in the high clerestory windows was found to be very fragile, putting the mediaeval glass at risk. The work on the glazing is planned to carry on until the end of April. Sunday services will continue to be held in the Chancel where there is seating for approximately 40 people.
