Flu jab clinic information

If you are aged 65 and over, or are in one of the categories listed below, please add your name to the list at the village shop.

We will be offering flu vacs to patients aged 50-64 not at risk at a later date.

The eligible groups for the 2020/21 service are:

  • all people aged 65 years and over (including those becoming age 65 years by 31 March 2022);
  • people on the NHS Shielded Patient List for Covid-19
  • people aged from 18 to less than 65 years of age with one or more of the following medical conditions:
  • chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, such as severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or bronchitis;
  • chronic heart disease, such as heart failure;
  •  chronic kidney disease at stage 3, 4 or 5
  •  chronic liver disease;
  • chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson’s disease or motor neurone disease, or learning disability;
  • diabetes;
  • immunosuppression, a weakened immune system due to disease (such as HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment);
  • asplenia or splenic dysfunction;
  • morbid obesity
  • pregnant women (including those women who become pregnant during the flu season);
  • a household contact of someone on the NHS Shielded Patient List
  • the main carer of an older or disabled person
  • household contacts of immunocompromised individuals who are aged 18 or over.
  • a frontline health or social care worker
  •  children aged 2 or 3 years old on 31st August 2021 (please ring the surgery to book an appointment)
  •  nearly all school aged children will be offered a vaccination at school
  • Aged 50 to 64 years, due to shortages, vaccination to be offered at a later date
