There is also a change to the advertised speaker and topic, which will now be: Genomic Revolution  ….   and you! A talk by Jason Skelton, an Advanced Research Assistant at the Wellcome Genome Campus near Hinxton just south of Cambridge.  Home to the Sanger Institute, the campus has leading scientists in the fields of genomics and biodata.

Jason will give a little history of the Sanger Institute over the last 25 years and an overview of the technological changes over some of that time in DNA sequencing.  He will talk about DNA, genes and genomes and what it means for our future and better healthcare.  Rapid reading of the genetic code is enabling big advances in diagnosing disease and tracking deadly outbreaks.
