Christine Tod honoured by Bishop of Ely

ethedredaCongratulations to Christine Tod on being awarded the Etheldreda Medal for generous and outstanding service to the community in Ely Diocese.

Since 1963 Christine has given outstanding and faithful service to Haslingfield Church and village. Among much else in the church she organised many fetes and festivals, arranged the flowers for countless weddings and services, all whilst being at the centre of the church’s worship and organisation. Christine was a key person in getting the new Village Hall built and oversaw its bookings and maintenance for twenty years, as well as being quick to support anyone in special need. She is a devoted mother and grandmother who supported her husband in running their local farms, and in his final illness.

Every village needs a Christine. Haslingfield is delighted that the Bishop has given her this well-deserved honour.
