Festival Barbecue – Aurevoir
By all accounts everyone had a good time and the whole village enjoyed the fireworks! Our thanks to all who came and helped us to raise around £1600, of which £320 will be donated to the Haslingfield Village Fund in appreciation of the support we receive from the whole community. We would especially like to express our thanks for the generosity of our sponsors: IMC Group Ltd, Kimbolton Fireworks, The Little Rose (who also ran the bar for us) and the organiser of the festival Dog Show; to the team who operated the barbecue so efficiently, including The Explorers; to The Combertones and The Tabs for ‘donating’ the music; to Kevin Stearne for putting up the traditional fairy lights; to John Helmsing for the loan of his big tent; and to Fitzroy Builders who not only provided the transport for the weekend but made and gave us two drum barbecues of superior engineering quality!
