In just 4 days’ time, James van der Hoorn of Moss Drive Haslingfield will be one of the 1000+ competitors lining up at 9am to run 160 miles across the Sahara desert. Preparing for the Marathon des Sables has been a long journey involving, unsurprisingly, lots and lots of running. To see what James has to say about his preparations and the kit that he’ll need to bring along, please click here:Marathon des Sables 2014
Dear Sirs,
James is well prepared for his adventure.
He’ll certainly have an abundance of material for his photos. From my own
experiences of the region the subject scope is fascinating.
Perhaps at the end of the marathon he’ll find space in his bag for a pair of
‘ babouches’, the traditional, very comfortable, slippers!
French tv is covering the MdS, so I can keep tabs on progress from it,
as well as this site.
Good luck to him, and safe return.
Neville James Cole
