Haslingfield Little Theatre receives two Award Nominations
In May 2014, we performed 84 Charing Cross Road – the wonderful true-life play about a New York writer and her London bookseller. We are delighted to announce that the National Operatic and Dramatic Association East Region (NODA) have nominated us for two awards: Best Play 2014, and Best Technical 2014 for Sets and Props.

Pub Quiz Night This Friday
This Friday 30th January sees that next Quiz Night at the Little Rose Pub with Cash Prizes. Teams of any number up to a maximum of six can take part, entry is £10 per team including nibbles. First Question asked at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or book in advance. All of the entry fees are given out in prizes. The last quiz saw cash prizes for teams that came first, second and third.
Also, any village club, society or group are welcome to use the newly decorated Lounge bar for meetings or get togethers for free. Simply turn up when the pub is open and make yourself at home.
The pub sells a wide range of drinks including real ales, real cider, teas, coffees, lager, spirits and soft drinks alongside food and welcomes families with children of any age. For more information, please click ‘Read More’…
Allotment Meeting
The Haslingfield Allotment Gardeners Association (HAGA) is having their quarterly meeting on Tuesday 20th January 2015 in the Little Rose at 19:30. They have one vacant plot so if you have “green fingers” and want to grow your own produce or just want to know more then please come along.

Innovation and Leadership – the convergence of Creativity and Science
In Sir Ken Robinson’s interview for the first of BBC Radio 4’s The Educators series, he lamented that schools are inadvertently crushing creativity with a narrow curriculum which favours a ‘particular type of intelligence’ and league tables which can be likened to the Eurovision Song Contest of education. Who better to talk about creativity? Sir Ken’s book ‘Out of Our Minds’ is an inspiring read about learning to be creative and his TED Talks receive more hits on YouTube than Bill Gates’ or Bono’s. BLUE SKIES BIG BAND comes to Haslingfield – in aid of the Ebola Crisis Fund
On Saturday 28 February, the Blue Skies Big Band will be performing in Haslingfield Village Hall in association with Haslingfield Little Theatre. The concert is in aid of the Ebola Crisis Fund, will feature a wide range of Swing, Dixie and popular Jazz music from the 15-piece band. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. with concert starting at 8.00 p.m. There will be a bar, but please bring your own “nibbles”. Tickets available at £10 per person at Haslingfield Village Shop & Country Kitchen, or from Terry on: 01223 872150.

Wine & Cheese Evening at Haslingfield Primary School – sponsored by Waitrose
You are warmly invited to a wine and cheese evening, sponsored by Waitrose, at Haslingfield Primary School on 5 February 2015 at 7.30 p.m. A Waitrose sommelier will talk us through a variety of wines and of course there will be plenty of tasting! A light buffet of cheese, crackers and fruit is also included in the ticket price. Please join us for what will be a great early Valentines evening or a night out with friends.
Tickets available in advance from the school office, or by email to ptfahaslingfield@gmail.com, at £10 each. All proceeds to benefit the school swimming pool which offers pupils weekly swimming lessons and after school swimming clubs during the summer term.

Haslingfield Little Owls Pre-school – Annual Jumble Sale
The Haslingfield Little Owls Pre-school Annual Jumble Sale will take place on Saturday 24th January at 2pm in Haslingfield Village Hall. Please bring any items of jumble to the hall on the day from 10.30-12.30 (no electrical items please).
