Haslingfield Tennis Club
The Haslingfield Lawn Tennis Club is a friendly club for tennis players of all ages and abilities. We have two hard courts located on the recreation ground near the Village Hall. We run coaching sessions in the spring, summer and autumn for which membership is not required. We field teams in the LTA tennis leagues and organise a number of social events throughout the year.

Coaching
The Club Coach is Paul Bonnington (PaulBonnington16@hotmail.com).

Group tennis coaching is provided for everyone, not just club members. Club members are given a period of priority booking before courses are advertised elsewhere and given a discount of 10%. This year the following sessions will be provided:
Adult Classes – 12 lessons for £84 for non-members and £75.60 for members. Starts on the 25th April.
Friday: 6.30pm -7.30pm (Adult Intermediate)
7.30pm – 8.30pm (Adult Advanced)
Sunday: 9.15am – 10.15am (Adult Match Play)
Stay on for the Club Session after the lesson!
Junior Classes – 12 lessons for £60 for non-members and £54 for members. Starts on the 23rd April.
Wednesday: 4.10pm – 5.10pm (12-14 yrs)
5.10pm – 6.10pm (10-12 yrs)
Friday: 4pm – 5pm (6-8 yrs)
5pm – 6pm (12-16 yrs)
Saturday: 9.30am – 10.30am (6-8 yrs)
10.30am – 11.30am (8-10 yrs)
Easter and Summer Coaching weeks
This year Paul Bonnington will be running an Easter Coaching Week and two Summer Coaching weeks. The price is £50 for the week or £10 per session. Members receive a 10% discount so that’s £45 for the week or £9 per session.
Easter: Monday 7th April – Friday 11th April
Summer 1: Monday 28nd July – Friday 1st August
Summer 2: To be confirmed (will be later in August)
6 – 8 years: 10:00 – 12:00
9 – 12 years: 13:00 – 15:00
13 – 16 years: 16:00 – 18:00

Club Sessions
Club sessions are organised twice a week during the season and are a great opportunity to meet members and play tennis. A club representative will organise the games and provide balls. Club sessions take place on:
Wednesdays 6:30pm – dusk. Starts 16th April
Sundays 10:30 -1:00pm. Starts 20th April
Please do come along to these sessions we welcome all levels. The sessions are for Adult and Student members. Juniors aged 12+ may participate but please check with a member of the committee first.
Booking Courts
Members have free use of the courts. These are booked using the diaries which are kept in the box attached to the shed adjacent to the courts.
Court No. 1 may be booked 2 weeks in advance.
Court No. 2 may be booked 24 hours in advance.
Courts may not be booked for periods of more than one hour.
Juniors may book courts no later than 6:00 pm on weekdays. Please remember that tennis shoes, not trainers, must be worn on the courts to prevent damage to the surface. The shoe tags that will be provided should be worn at all times to highlight that you are a member. Full details of court regulations and the constitution are displayed on the notice board.

Tennis Ladder
We operate a friendly Tennis Ladder to provide a means of finding people to play against throughout the year. It is operated online via a website. Once you have joined the ladder, you simply click on a player to challenge them. Once you have played the game you enter the score into the web site, which automatically re-orders the ladder if necessary. You can view the ladder at:

Tournaments
Tournaments take place throughout the summer and are open to players of all standards. Turn up on the day at draw time. More details are available from any Committee Member.

LTA Tennis League
We had an exciting and very successful 2013 in the SLAZENGER Cambridge & District Lawn Tennis League. We entered a total of 8 doubles teams this year in the men’s, ladies, mixed and winter leagues. The ladies 1st team, men’s 1st team and the mixed 1st team all gained promotion by ending in 2nd place in their division.
This year we are entering an additional men’s team in both the summer and winter leagues to provide more opportunity to play. We are also entering a men’s team in the Gray’s Cup. Social Events
We plan to organise a number of social events throughout the year, including a Summer Barbeque, Safari Supper, Quiz Night and fun and games during the Scarecrow Festival – details will be announced later!
We would also like to hold a fund-raising event to raise money towards our new floodlights. If you have any ideas, or would like to organise an event, do please get in touch with any member of the Committee.
Ball Machine
