With restrictions coming to an end in England, residents in Cambridgeshire are being encouraged to make the most of the spring and summer while continuing good hygiene practices which will help protect themselves and others from serious illness. After a tremendously difficult two years there will be relief for many that life can return to normal, but local health chiefs are reminding residents that there are people with underlying conditions who are at risk of severe illness from COVID.
There are also still concerns that the protection offered by the vaccine could wane and dangerous new variants could appear, while the chair of Cambridgeshire County Council’s Adults and Health Committee has also expressed concern about the reduction in testing and is calling for continued vigilance by local people.
For these reasons, local health chiefs have outlined a list of simple and easy to follow measures to help keep everyone as safe as possible from catching the virus and potentially becomingly seriously ill. Read more

Please find below the minutes from the Haslingfield Parish Council meeting 14 February 2022.
National Highways are continuing their work to replace the expansion joints, re-waterproof and resurface the M11 junction 9 overbridge. This work will ensure the bridge continues to remain in a safe and serviceable condition. They plan to complete this work over 4 weekends from Friday 11 March, weather conditions permitting.
To carry out the work safely, there will be a 50mph speed restriction on the junction 9 overbridge. They will also need to close the M11 between junctions 9 (junction with A11) and 10 (junction with A505) in both directions and divert traffic as detailed below: Read more
We are about to start rehearsals for our May Production, Alan Ayckbourn’s hilarious comedy, Bedroom Farce, which we are performing on 19, 20 & 21 May at Haslingfield Village Hall.

The sessions explain what local councillors and councils do, how you can become a councillor, details of the role and what to expect.
