breakfastAfter the 6.30am Sunrise Service on Barrington Hill on Easter Sunday (20th April) an Easter Breakfast will be served from 7.30-9.30am  at the Methodist Church.  Proceeds to charity.  Why not start your Easter Day with a cooked breakfast even if Barrington Hill is toooo early?

Public Consultation Meeting Wednesday 16th April

HASLINGFIELD PARISH COUNCIL

Wednesday April 16th at 7:30pm in the Village Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to consult on the present situation about Bus services under Cambridge Future Transport (CFT), and on the informal stage of a Community Governance Review which is examining the creation of a separate body from Haslingfield Parish Council (HPC) to be responsible for the governance of that part of the Trumpington Meadows Development which lies within South Cambridgeshire District Council land presently within HPC’s parish boundary and other minor related changes. Tennis Season Opener

Haslingfield Lawn Tennis Club is holding its Opening Event this Sunday 13th April at 10:30am on the Tennis Courts

There will be tennis and refreshments everyone is welcome – please come along!

The Haslingfield Lawn Tennis Club is a friendly club for tennis players of all ages and abilities.  We have two hard courts located on the recreation ground near the Village Hall. We run coaching sessions in the spring, summer and autumn for which membership is not required. We field teams in the LTA tennis leagues and organise a number of social events throughout the year.

Countdown to “Marathon des Sables” for Haslingfield Man

Marathon des sables (2)In just 4 days’ time, James van der Hoorn of Moss Drive Haslingfield will be one of the 1000+ competitors lining up at 9am to run 160 miles across the Sahara desert. Preparing for the Marathon des Sables has been a long journey involving, unsurprisingly, lots and lots of running. 166cAn article on our retired Parish Clerk Janet Hendy appeared in C&V previously.  Janet has been a mainstay of HPC proceedings for eleven years and will be a hard act to follow.  Existing and previous councillors and others attended a farewell gathering at the Chairman’s house on 28th February 2014.   Our thanks go to Mike Hendy too who has been so helpful behind the scenes over the years and continues to volunteer for more. New Vicar at All Saints’ Church

RebeccaThe Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce the appointment of the Reverend Rebecca Gilbert to serve as Team Vicar in the Lordsbridge Team Ministry, the group of churches that includes All Saints Church, Haslingfield.   Rebecca is currently on maternity leave from her previous post as curate in the Three Rivers group of parishes near Newmarket and plans to move into The Vicarage with her family in September.   She is married to Richard (Rich) and they have two young children.
