A\u00a0111 service<\/strong> will be launched in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough from this week. The service will be launched in Cambridgeshire, not including Peterborough, on 12 November from mid-morning<\/b>. The service will<\/b> then be launched in the Peterborough area<\/b> on 28 November<\/b><\/p>\n 111 will get you through to a team of fully trained call advisers, who are supported by experienced nurses and paramedics. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, and give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you to the right local service.<\/p>\n The NHS 111 team will, where possible, book you an appointment or transfer you directly to the people you need to speak to. If they think you need an ambulance, they will send one immediately \u2013 just as if you had originally dialled 999.<\/p>\n You should use the NHS 111 service if you need medical help or advice urgently but it\u2019s not a life-threatening situation.<\/p>\n You should call 111 if:<\/p>\n \u00b7 It\u2019s not a 999 emergency<\/p>\n \u00b7 you think you need to go to A&E or another NHS urgent care service;<\/p>\n \u00b7 you don\u2019t think it can wait for an appointment with your GP; or<\/p>\n \u00b7 you don\u2019t know who to call for medical help.<\/p>\n For less urgent health needs, you should still contact your GP in the usual way.
