A Community Governance Review for the Parish of Haslingfield

SCDC

SCDC

The South Cambridgeshire District Council is undertaking a community governance review of the parish of Haslingfield because the new housing development at Trumpington Meadows will alter the geographical spread of housing across the parish. The resulting spatial separation between the two population centres will no longer correspond to a parish boundary that reflects a natural settlement pattern. Furthermore, the two populations may not share a common identity or interests. So Have your say in the Haslingfield Parish community governance review.

Do you know the difference between driving at 20mph and 30mph?

eCops logoStopping distances, consequences of hitting a child and fuel consumption are a few things covered in the quiz to test your knowledge of the difference between driving at 20mph and 30mph. The quiz, has been created as part of a month-long THINK! speed campaign educating motorists of the consequences of speeding.
We are encouraging motorists to take part in the short quiz to test your knowledge of the difference between driving at 20mph and 30mph. The quiz can be found here: https://www.qzzr.com/c/quiz/248588/know-the-difference-cambridgeshire
If you kill someone while speeding, you will have to live with the long-term emotional consequences. Remember that speed limits are there for a reason. Traffic Sergeant Ian Manley

Suspicious activity in a local village

Lindsay Gardiner (Police, PCSO, South Cambridgeshire – Cambourne)

eCops logoWe have recently had reports of suspicious activity in a local village involving people going door to door offering to clean windows and carry out general maintenance to properties. We recommend that you research online before saying yes to their services, ask for a card/ leaflet with their details and obtain a written quote.

Local Crime – Remain vigilant

Whilst there have been no specific reports received from the police of crimes relating to Haslingfield, there are surrounding villages where the police have reported crimes relating to burglary or shed break-ins, vehicle thefts or thefts from vehicles.  The police encourage everyone to take a few extra seconds to check that their vehicle or home is secure before leaving it and removing any items of value from view.

The police are encouraging residents to do the “Bad Wolf Test” which is a security quiz aimed at homes in South Cambs. Stay safe and take the bad wolf test = www.tinyurl.com/Bad-Wolf-Test

Remain vigilant. If you see anything suspicious, or, anyone behaving suspiciously please report this to the police on telephone number 101
